Training Qualification is necessary to use specialized slots in Operations.
Some of you may have heard tid-bits of information about upcoming operations for the [48th]. I want everyone to be informed that in order to use a specialized slot in an Operation, such as a Forward Air Controller or a Pilot, you must have first qualified in the training associated with the slot, such as FAC Training and Harrier Flight School. This rule applies to a number of situations. As the 48th Airborne Division, an Airborne Division, we will be having Airborne insertions, or paradropping, in a number of our missions. However, to participate in these missions, you must first complete Airborne School and become Airborne qualified. As of now, FAC Training and Harrier School are the only special slots available so you don't need to worry about becoming Airborne certified. Just be sure that if you want to be a FAC or a Harrier pilot in an Operation, that you complete the associated training program. The scoring system from each training program determines the priority each graduate gets when it comes to earning a slot in Operations. In other words, the highest-scoring training graduate gets to choose whether they would like to take the associated slot in an Operation, or pass it on to the person with the next-highest score. So be sure to try to obtain the highest score possible during the training exercises!
